Burke Construction Group, alongside Legacy school leaders, SH Architecture, North Las Vegas Mayor John Lee, and city officials held a groundbreaking ceremony on January 25 at the site of the school at La Madre Way and Valley Drive. The City Council approved plans for the school in October.
The North Las Vegas campus will be the first Nevada location for this # 1 rated Arizona Charter School. Legacy Traditional School’s proven, accelerated, academic model focuses on the basics of reading, writing and math along with science, social studies, computers and art.
Slated to open for the 2017-2018 school year, the 80,717-square-foot facility will accommodate about 1,260 students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Upon completion, the school will have 41 classrooms, offices, a gym, playgrounds, a kitchen, a cafeteria and athletic fields.
